How to Reach Udupi Shri Krishna Matha

Udupi is well-connected by road, railway (Konkan Railway), and airways via Mangaluru.

By Train (Konkan Railway) / ರೈಲು ಮಾರ್ಗ

Udupi Railway Station (UD) is located approximately 3.5 km from Sri Krishna Matha. Direct express and superfast trains connect Udupi to Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Kochi, Goa, and Ahmedabad. Prepaid autos and taxis are available round-the-clock outside the station.

By Air (Mangaluru International Airport) / ವಿಮಾನ ಮಾರ್ಗ

The nearest airport is Mangaluru International Airport (IXE), situated about 58 km (approx. 1 hour 15 minutes by taxi via NH-66) south of Udupi. Flights connect Mangaluru to major Indian metros (Bengaluru, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Chennai) and Middle Eastern destinations.

By Road & Bus / ರಸ್ತೆ ಮಾರ್ಗ

National Highway 66 (Panvel to Kanyakumari) passes directly through Udupi. Udupi KSRTC Bus Stand and the City Bus Stand are just 1.2 km away. Frequent luxury and sleeper buses connect Udupi directly to Bengaluru (approx. 8 hours), Mysuru, Hubballi, and Pune.

Important Information for Visiting Devotees

Traditional Dress Code

Devotees are requested to wear traditional modest attire. Men remove shirts and banyans before entering the inner sanctum. Women are requested to wear sarees or traditional Indian suits.

Photography Restrictions

Mobile phones and cameras must remain switched off inside the inner temple corridors. Strictly no photography allowed near the Navagraha Kindi or sanctum sanctorum.

Traditional Darshana Order

Pilgrims traditionally visit the holy stepped Madhva Sarovara pond, receive darshana of Sri Chandramouleshwara and Sri Anantheshwara first, before arriving at the Navagraha Kindi.
